President's Welcome Note

President's Welcome Note

Dear Friends and Advocates,

I am thrilled to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to you as we embark on an inspiring journey together with the launch of Safe Zone. Our mission is clear and compelling: to empower Key Population (KP) with human rights-based health and social services, connecting them to treatment, nurturing their continued care, and ensuring sustainable health and wellbeing. Additionally, we are deeply committed to providing assistance to vulnerable children and women, as well as addressing a range of issues, including those associated with racial and ethnic disparities, among others.

At Safe Zone, we firmly believe that healthcare is a fundamental human right, and we are unwavering in our commitment to advancing this belief. Key Population, including the LGBTQ+ community, people who inject drugs, sex workers, and others, have long faced disproportionate challenges in accessing quality healthcare. It is our mission to change that.

Our website, Safe Zone, is designed to be a beacon of hope, knowledge, and support for KP and other vulnerable population, offering:

Access to Services: Safe Zone is your gateway to accessible, non-discriminatory balanced portfolio of HIV services. We are committed to linking you to the care you deserve, championing your right to respectful, compassionate treatment.

Community and Support: Together, we form a resilient and supportive community, where you can connect with others who understand your journey. Share your experiences, find strength in one another, and know that you are not alone in your pursuit of a healthier life.

Advocacy for Rights including Gender equality/equity: Safe Zone is not just a website; it is a platform for change. We actively advocate for the rights of Key Population, fighting stigma, discrimination, and injustice on your behalf. Additionally, we are committed to creating a more inclusive and equitable society where individuals of all genders can enjoy equal rights, opportunities, and protection from discrimination and violence.

Support  to Vulnerable Children, Adolescent and young Women groups and other vulnerable/high risk population: The cornerstone of our efforts at Safe Zone is not just about providing aid, it embodies our dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most. We believe that by supporting these individuals, we contribute to building a more just and equitable world for everyone.

As the President of Safe Zone, I am deeply honored to lead this mission. I pledge our unwavering dedication to upholding human rights, fostering inclusivity, and promoting health equity for all. We will operate with transparency, empathy, and a relentless focus on achieving our goals.

I invite you to explore our website, access the services we offer, and engage with our community. Your health, your rights, and your future matter, and together, we can make a difference.

Thank you for choosing Safe Zone as your partner on this journey to better health. With your support and our collective efforts, we will ensure that Key Populations receive the care, respect, and empowerment they rightfully deserve.

With gratitude and anticipation,

Olukemi Dabo

President, Safe Zone
